THE ENCOUNTER

Infected by the venom of contradiction
I looked away from the Cross
Lost in the vales deep in the jungle
Liberty, strength, peace, entangled

Distance remain
Daily, I hover in pain
Like the eagle in search of it’s prey
Heavy laden I lay

I feel alone
Silence is an ally
Twilight refuses a sleep
The evening star sheds blood
This feels like prison
As I begin to weep
For yet another break

Shuttered away from the light
The venom keeps spreading
Oh I lost hold
The angel within wept
For a prison break

Lying lonely, vacuous, pensive
Weakened by the venom
I hear the wind whisper
In a soft, soothing and clear tone
It called out for me in the lone

For the first time I saw
A thin light break in bright and smiley
Then it echoed out to me
“You have the encounter today”
“To break from the prison”
“And take hold again”

For nothing, I felt a shiver and vibration
The venom ghasted away
Out of nowhere I saw a pulley
That pulled me out of the prison
