MOUNT MARY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SUPER CUP FINALS; CHECK OUT DETAILS HERE AND DOWNLOAD YOUR PICTURES

On Sunday, 17th July, 2022, the Students’ Representative Council held it’s long awaited SRC SUPER CUP FINALS.

The SRC SUPER CUP Preliminary was held on 25th and 26th June respectively and this saw four Halls of residence making it to the finals; 2 halls on the females’ side and the other two for the males.

The halls that made it to the finals were Elsbernd Men and Adjikpo Men (they played against each other), then Elsbernd Women also played against Staebell Women. The game started around 1:00pm and ended around 5:30pm.

The Chairperson for the competition was Madam Gifty Akorfa. She gave the opening speech by wishing all halls that were playing the best of luck and cautioned them to be very cautious and learn to control their temperament so as to avoid any casualties.

The SRC Executives led by Mr. Agbessi Kokou (the President) Loumon were also in attendance. The voice of the President; Mr. Agbessi Kokou Loumon was also heard. He wishes the halls involved good luck and asked them to very friendly and forgiving should anyone offend another in order to have a peace game. There were some tutors who also graced the occasion with their presence and some of them were Hall Wardens too.

The games started with the ladies being the first to play. The Staebell ladies won the Elsbernd ladies with one goal ( a penalty kick).


Then, the Elsbernd me played against Adjikpo men but unfortunately the Elsbernd Men lost the trophy to Adjikpo men. Adjikpo Men won with one goal which was also a penalty kick.

Again, after the match, awards were given to Best Players both the men and women side thus MAN OF THE MATCH AND WOMAN OF THE MATCH. ADARKWAH PRINCESS OHENEWAH from the Staebell Hallwon the Woman of the Match on the ladies side (Best Female Player) and AGYEMANG EMMANUEL from Elsbernd Hall took the Man of the Match from the men’ side (Best Male Player).

The Referee for both matches was Mr. Justice. The match came to an end with the presentation of trophies to each Hall as well as the Best Players.

The Chairperson gave her opening remarks by congratulating the winning Halls and urged the those who lost to take heart and bounce back stronger.

It was an exciting moment but an emotional moment for the Hall who lost ( The Elbernders). The Elbernders (both supporters and players ) shed tears for losing to their opponents.
