Put Ghana first – Kennedy Agyapong to workers
Kennedy Agyapong, a businessman and politician running for flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), wishes all employees a happy May Day on Monday, May 1.
He pleaded with the workers to prioritize Ghana in their tasks.
On Monday, May 1, workers around the world are celebrating International Workers’ Day with the subject “Protecting Incomes and Pensions in an Era of Economic Crises: Our Responsibility” in Ghana.

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central wrote in his statement, “As an entrepreneur with the strong belief in workers’ rights, I wish Ghanaians a Happy May Day and I entreat all to place Ghana first in their work every day.”
For his part, Morgan Ayawine, the general secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers’ Union (ICU), urged firms to commit to giving employees living wages that are consistent with international standards.
He emphasized that this will be in keeping with their labor and sacrifices for higher productivity, translating into economic progress and national development in Ghana.

His May Day Message to the Union’s members in 2023 stated this.
Given the significance of pensions to the worker’s current and future survival, he emphasized that they must never be infringed in any way.
