8-YEAR-OLD WINS NATIONAL READING COMPETITION WITH TWO COLLEAGUES
On August, 5, news surfing the net projected an 8-year-old girl who received some gifts from the Lawmaker of the North Tongu Constituency; Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Samelia Mekporsigbe, a class 3 pupil of Battor DA Primary School, came out outstandingly by winning a reading competition at the circuit and district levels before emerging winner at the regional level too.
Today, a post on Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa’s Facebook space indicates that the said young girl has made the Volta Region proud by putting up a golden performance at the National thereby making Volta Region the Winner of the reading contest.
Once again, the Lawmaker eulogizes the little girl and expressed his gladness on the fact that the girl joining forces with two colleagues made the Volta Region proud.
The National reading contest was organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with USAID.

Hon. Samuel mentioned the team of contestants and their trainers or teachers should expect a handsome package of commendation from the Volta Parliamentary Caucus in due course.
He also emphasized that there are many more surprises on the way for little Samelia.
His post read;

North Tongu and Volta Region’s Reading Champion, Samelia Mekporsigbe with her two colleagues: Sonia Dzidula of Ho West and Victoria Yaotse from Ho put up a golden performance to make Team Volta winners at the National Reading Festival organised by the Ministry of Education and USAID.”
