Offinso College Of Education Hold It’s 3rd Principal’s Excellence Awards For Outstanding Students

On Wednesday 22nd of June, 2022, the Principal of Offinso College of Education, Very Rev. Joseph Nkyi Asamoah, and the college management organized PRINCIPAL’S EXCELLENCE AWARDS CEREMONY for 96 students (Level 100 & 400 Students)

The ceremony was the third of its kind: similar ones were held for the levels 200 and 300 in the previous semester.

The colorful ceremony saw the attendance of the college principal, Very Rev. Joseph Nkyi Asamoah, the college secretary, the Dean of Student’s Affairs (Elder Augustine Adjei), the Assessment Officer (Mr. Jonathan Mensah), the college chaplain (Very Rev. Samuel Dontoh), most of the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the College, the Executives of the Students’ Representative Council and students from Level 100 and 400 who are currently in the College.

The Principal of the College, Very Reverend Joseph Nkyi-Asamoah who initiated the award scheme in his welcome address advised the students to take their studies seriously.

He explained that the rationale behind the introduction of the Excellence Awards Ceremony is to primarily motivate all students of the College to work harder so that they could also enjoy the same or similar awards in the semesters ahead.

He was also of the firm belief that the Awards initiative would go a long way to uplift the corporate image of Offinso College as the College of choice and one of the best colleges in the country.

He again added that the Scheme was also meant to encourage the awardees to remain studious and resilient in their academic endeavors to enable them to earn very good classes at the end of their four–year stay on campus

The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Elder Augustine Adjei expressed joy at the students’ performance and urged the students to see the Awards Scheme as a reinforcement and advised them accordingly to sit up to improve upon their performances and also be part of the awardees in the subsequent semesters.

The overall best student was Gloria Timah Sarkodie. Her Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) was 4.00.
In the level 400 category, the best was Bismark Ekpe whose CGPA stood at 3.97.

Mr. Jonathan Kwame Mensah, the Academic Affairs officer of the College on the college advised the students that if they wanted to achieve such an academic feat, they should not rest on their oars instead they should work harder to raise or maintain their cumulative grade points average (GPA).

All the 96 students selected for the special awards were presented with certificates at the ceremony.
