PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION EMERGED THE WINNER OF TTAG-EGA QUIZ AND DEBATE COMPETITION; CHECK DETAILS HERE

The Eastern Greater Accra Sector of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana ( TTAG-EGA) was privileged to have an organization of Quiz and Debate Competition for Training Colleges under it’s auspices.

ABOUT TTAG-EGA QUIZ COMPETITION

The competition was organized and championed by the Select and Groom Future Leaders. The aforementioned organization stated that the competition will be organized in all sectors of the Teacher Trainee’s Association of Ghana (TTAG). Apparently, the organized it in the Volta Sector and they shall extend it to the rest of the sectors of the fraternity. Again, the winners shall be picked to represent the Sector at the National Competition.

The TTAG-EGA Sector comprises 9 colleges but the program saw the attendance of 8 Colleges of Education thus Mount Mary College of Education, Kibi Presbyterian College of Education, Asokore SDA College of Education, Presbyterian College of Education, Methodist College of Education, Ada College of Education, Presbyterian Women College of Education and Accra College of Education. Abetifi College of Education, which is the nineth school didn’t partake in the competition.

Three contestants were presented by each school but only two represented on stage while the one left became a standby. The was room for substitution but that could only be done at the beginning of the each contest.

The program was held for two days that is 13th and 14th July. The first day which is Wednesday, 13th July, saw the Debate Competition phase. Contestants were made to read out and dramatize their debate scripts. On the second day, 14th July, comments were give on the debate competition that took place on the first day. After, results were declared for that phase. There was the quiz competition on that same day. The quiz consisted of about four rounds and aspects tackled were General Knowledge, Homographs, Scrabble Sentence, Brain work (Memorization) and Maths.

TTAG-EGA QUIZ FINAL RESULT

After each round, results were declared as well as the various positions of the representing schools. After everything, all marks of the representing schools both from the debate and quiz were compiled to give the final rankings and positions. After, compilation, it was confirmed that Presbyterian College of Education took the overall winner this the first position in the quiz and Debate Competition with Asokore SDA College of Education taking the Second Position and PWCE placing third.

Indisputably, contestants exhibited their intellect and inner prowess to make their schools proud. The competition was tough but it saw a successful end.
