Police officer, wife, and baby killed by fire

The Ashanti Region’s residents of Apromase have suffered tragedy.

An officer from the Ashanti Regional Police Command’s Anti-Robbery Unit died in a fire that destroyed his home.

The tragedy, which is thought to have happened Sunday night, took the lives of Sergeant Owusu Asante Baafi, his wife Yaa Achiaa, and their three-month-old child.

The cause of the fire outbreak is unknown but officers from the Ghana National Fire Service were there to commence investigations.

According to some neighbors, they came out from their room after hearing a noise from the officer’s room only to see a thick smoke from his room.

Information gathered by emiinspirations.com shows that even some men tried to save the officer and his family but it all boiled to nothing because of his steel door and bugler proof window.

Additionally, a few police officers were present to assist the Ghana National Fire Service with the investigations.

Enquiry made by emiinspirations.com is that this is the third fire case recorded in the Ashanti Region in 2023.

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), is on his way to the Ashanti Region to comfort the grieving family.

Their bodies have been placed in the morgue at the Living Waters hospital.
