DEPUTY MINISTER NOMINATED AS THE SUBSTANTIVE SECTOR MINISTER
On August 2nd, a statement released from the Communication Directorate, Jubilee House, Accra indicated that the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection has been nominated to be the substantive Minister for the Ministry.
Her appointment is a replacement of Sarah Adwoa Safo who was removed from office last week by the President.
The statement signed by Eugene Arhin; the Director of Communication (Office of Parliament) stated “The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in accordance with article 78 of the Constitution, has appointed the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu, the Member of Parliament for Walewale, as Minister designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection. Her appointment is subject to the approval of Parliament.”
ABOUT HON. LARIBA ZUWEIRA ABUDU
Hon. Lariba is a native of JANGA-FIO, born on Thursday, 12 May 1966 born to Mr Abudu an Educationist and a chief of Fio Traditional Area.
She is a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ghanaian politician and the deputy Chief Executive officer of the Northern Development Authority.
She was appointed to the Deputy Chief Executive Office of the Northern Development Authority in 2018 by President Akufo-Addo.
She became the member of parliament for Walewale constituency after she contested and won Walewale constituency seat in the 2020 Ghanaian General Elections.
