IF I COULD BE ANYONE

If I could be anyone, who could that be?
I’m not popular, yes I prefer to be free
I wish to escape the paparazzi
For I am my own sun and moon

I choose to be rich but share with another in dire need
I choose to be filled with joy and glee
When I watch a fellow smile

I choose to be different in all ways
Filled with diverse songs for different music lovers
I choose to be genuine to avoid rants
And escape from prying eyes

I know you have a choice for me
I know you felt I should be like another
I know you still ponder and wonder
Why I don’t seem to bother

But if I could be anyone, who could that be?
As the length of fingers vary so is our individualism
I cannot not change for anyone or be like anyone
I can only be me, serving the purpose I’m made for.
