LIKE A ROCK

I’m like a rock still standing against all odds
The rain might beat me mercilessly but
It shall clean away all filth on my surface
And the sun shall surely dry the tears

I’m like the rock firmly rooted in hope
The sun might be too hot
To pass scorpion over my head but
It’s rays will give my surface lustre
Sparkling enough to attract third eyes

Like a rock, I might be broken into pieces by
Dynamites. Yet I’m glad I will make beautiful buildings
I can still be useful despite my brokenness
Maybe a reason others found solace

Like a rock, they may think me lifeless
Yet I give life to grasses, they spring up in joy
I give life to green trees, embracing my company

Albeit,
I might face trials
My way might get dimmed
I might pass through thick and thin
I might be through all nooks and crannies
I will remain standing like the rock
