NIGER CREATES ARTIFICIAL RAIN SYSTEM TO CURB DROUGHT
On Thursday, 25th August, 2022, the weather authorities of Niger stated that the country has deployed artificial rainmaking process to alleviate the dire effects of drought affecting it.
Indisputably, the country which is known to be a desert country had been confronted with food crisis for years as a result of the dryness they experience.

The head of the National Meteorology Institute; Katiellou Gaptia Lawan told AFP News Agency that they had to do something about the drought hence their action of creating an artificial rain system

“We have to something about this drought,” he stated vehemently.
The “induced rain” technology system implies using an aircraft to spray chemicals into clouds.

Thus intervention aims at areas where people farm.
Aside the drought, some parts of the country have experienced flooding during rain seasons which further aggravated the food crisis they face.
