Power crises in Manya and Yilo Krobo
People in Manya and Yilo Krobo have been asked to practice patience by the Electricity Company of Ghana, Tema Region, as engineers work quickly to resolve network issues there.
The call was made after some customers were left stuck while attempting to replenish their prepaid meters but running into network issues.
The general manager of ECG’s Tema region, Emmanuel Tetteh Akini, urged the residents to maintain their calmness and that ECG has qualified experts to address the problems.
Customers have been promised by the management of ECG that these issues will be resolved, and they have also been informed that more prepaid vending stations are being added to the Krobo enclave to increase accessibility.
“The stations will soon be expanded to ease the burden on existing ones and create more access for the residents,” said Mr Akini.
The Lower Manya and Yilo Krobo municipalities were resistant to the Electricity Company of Ghana ECG’s deployment of prepaid meters, and there was even a three-week power outage.
Peace was restored following months of consistent community involvement progress.
Residents have expressed concerns about insufficient vending stations and a poor network of purchasing electricity for their meters.
ECG Krobo District arranged fun games involving various stakeholders in the Krobo enclave as part of efforts to sustain the accomplishments and strengthen the positive working relationship between ECG and the wonderful people of Yilo and Manya Krobo.
