Venture to ‘Galamsey’ – GES to Newly Posted Teachers
Prof. Kwesi Opoku-Amankwah, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service has said that the newly posted teachers battling with delayed salaries should venture into ‘galamsey’.
Due to the seven months salary delay of newly posted teachers, many are in a state of dilemma as they are trying all possible things to acquire their necessary documents for CAGD involvement.j

According to the Director on UTV Morning Show dubbed, MPU NE MPU, said when he was pursuing his programs abroad, he involved himself in doing other jobs to sustain himself so newly posted teachers should also do the same.
‘Galamsey’ as referred to is a term used to describe extra classes or home tuition conducted by teachers to generate an income.
