The National Secretariat of Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education(PRINCOF), has ordered for the refund of feeding grant to Level 400 students for the 1st Semester of 2022/2023 Academic Year.
In a letter dated 18th August, 2023, The National Secretariat detailed the exact amount entitled to every individual as a refund for their First Semester Feeding Grant.
The National Secretariat indicated the following as a basis for sharing this fund to level 400 students in the colleges.
The students were to be given a 3 days orientation at the College before their departure to start the field work.
As noted at Conference, the number of days used for orientation, and examinations (if the students were fed), must be calculated and subtracted from the 84 days and the remainder calculated and refunded to the students.
Our checks indicate that the total number of days for both the orientation and examination is estimated to be a maximum of 12 days. However, the number of days used per College may differ depending on the actual situation in each College at the time.
College Principals should meet with their student leadership to discuss and agree on the number of days to be used in the calculation of the refund.
Colleges that fed students during the period, for the number of days agreed in supra, should deduct the GHS10.00 per day feeding grant from the total of GHS840.00 and the remaining amount refunded to the students.
Colleges that did not feed students for the period under consideration should refund the total amount of GHS840.00 to each student; and
Colleges that fed the students at a fee should work out the difference (with the local student leadership) and deduct the difference from the GHS840.00 before refunding the remaining amount to the students.
Principals are advised to credit each qualified student’s account with the amount due them, but not refund in cash until all outstanding student bills, including Congregation fees fully paid.
