Kejetia market on fire
Parts of the brand-new Kejetia Market in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, have been destroyed by fire.
The fire was said to have begun around 4:30pm on Wednesday, March 15.
Although the fire’s origin is unknown, areas of the market are already being affected, according to sources.

Meanwhile, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service are struggling to put out the blazing fire.
Because of trading sheds blocking several entrance points to the market, the Ghana Fire Service was unable to respond quickly.

Most traders are really worried as the Ghana National Fire Service try their best to rescue the situation.
To assist in putting out the roaring fire, four fire tenders are now on the scene.
This occurs just a week after a significant downpour caused flooding in several areas of the market.
