A LETTER TO MY MOM

Dear mom,
My lines may be too limited to scribe your values
But my life is an attestation of your love
Before you set your eyes on me, you loved me
You constantly pampered me while I was in the womb
You always echoed your impatience to have me in your arms
You gave me life and attached a meaning to it
Your love has been a balm to my injuries and pains
You endure the pains on bended knees
To communicate with the heavenly realm on my behalf
You are a source of motivation and inspiration
Your love for me transcends materialism
You gave up everything just to see my lips spread wide
You are my ride or die
You endured the bone breaking pain in the labor room
For me to see the light on the earth
I am not perfect, yet your love for me is perfect
You overlooked my fuss, my transgressions
When I was young
I was just naive and didn’t realize your lot
When I’m broken, your words resound like thunder
They carry a burning flame that ignites my soul
You are a world best teacher
Though sometimes I try swerving your long lecture
But there’s no doubt I enjoy it
Because of you, the world is glad to have a precious pearl like me
The world sings your praises
Because your enviable deeds in my life is an epitome to follow
Mother!
I’m glad I came from you
Please, still keep me in your heavenly words
Whenever you talk with our Maker
I will remember you in mine too
