Shortage of Food to Hit Colleges of Education Soon, Check New Details Here.
Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has indicated that, there is the likeness of food shortage to hit Colleges of Education (CoE).
TTAG President speaking at the the Grand Durbar of the 26th General Assembly of the association, on 22nd July, 2022, Friday held at Hohoe started that due to the enormous delay in payment of trainees allowance colleges of education will face food shortage.
“In as much as the government reinstated the teacher trainees allowance, the overdue delay in payment is causing a huge challenge to the trainees”, Jonathan Dzunu added.
The President bitterly explained that, the teacher trainees allowance has been in arrears since January, 2022.
The Principals in the forty-six (46) colleges of education are complaining that, suppliers are feeling reluctant to supply them with adequate food items due to their inability to rip of arrears they owe the suppliers.

About TEACHER TRAINEES ALLOWANCE
The teacher trainees allowance was reintroduced in 2017, as the government approved an amount of GH¢ 400.00 as allowance for teacher trainees. From the set amount, GH¢196.00 is allocated for feeding teacher trainees in the colleges of education, GH¢4.00 is paid a dues to the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana and the remaining GH¢200.00 paid to the teacher trainee
